Uber faces a £250 million lawsuit brought by traditional London taxi drivers, who claim the company provided misleading information to authorities while seeking permission to operate its app. The lawsuit, organized by RGL Management, involves nearly 11,000 taxi drivers, each potentially eligible for up to £25,000 in compensation. The case focuses on Uber's operations in London between May 2012 and March 2018, with RGL alleging that Uber unlawfully aimed to displace traditional taxi drivers. The Financial Times has reached a content licensing agreement with OpenAI, marking another step in its AI journey, one that aligns its operations closely with ChatGPT. This contract allows ChatGPT users to access the FT’s lines, snippets, hyperlinks, and summaries of articles, enabling deeper engagement with trusted news content on specialized topics. Additionally, the arrangement permits the use of The Financial Times’s extensive archive to train AI models. Other major publishers, including Axel Springer, AP, Le Monde, and El País, have established similar partnerships. Beyond mere content sharing, the FT is adopting the technology in-house as well; the publication has subscribed to the ChatGPT Enterprise service, equipping its entire staff with the latest AI tools.
